Beneficiary Designations
in Retirement Plans, Life Insurance, or DAF accounts
Consider leaving the gift of your retirement assets (IRA, 401(k), 403(b), etc.) to The Campership Fund (TCF) through a beneficiary designation on your account. It’s a great way to further TCF’s mission in getting families to camp. A couple of things to consider:
If you leave your retirement plan assets to TCF neither your heirs or TCF will pay income taxes on it
Retirement plan assets might have to be included in your estate for federal estate tax purposes but your estate will qualify for an offsetting estate tax charitable deduction
Similarly, you can name The Campership Fund as the death beneficiary of your life insurance policy, or of the funds remaining in your DAF at your passing
Please speak with your plan administrator about completing a beneficiary designation form to support TCF. Mention it also to your estate planning attorney. Contact Kaki Green, Executive Director at 904-614-5889 or kaki@campershipfund.org for more information.
Some beneficiary designation forms require an organization’s Federal Tax Identification Number. The Campership Fund’s number is: 58-1987690.
