Charitable Gift Annuities

Consider setting up a contract with a trustee in the form of a charitable gift annuity (CGA). As the donor you will make a gift to an organization who will serve as trustee of the CGA in exchange for a lifetime income stream. The trustee you choose will invest your gift and make fixed annual payments to you for life. After you pass, the remaining assets in the annuity go to The Campership Fund to continue to support the mission of getting families to camp and to ensure a lasting legacy. Some advantages of a CGA are:

  • Provides a reliable income stream for the donor with a fixed annuity payment

  • Donors may be eligible for a partial income tax deduction in the year they make the gift and depending on your tax situation may also be able to reduce capital gains taxes if they fund the annuity with appreciated assets

  • You will need to determine which individual or organization will serve as trustee of the CGA, which has unique investment, administrative, and tax reporting requirements. It might be a financial services company or a community foundation

It's crucial to consult with a financial advisor to set up a CGA properly. Contact Kaki Green, Executive Director at 904-614-5889 or kaki@campershipfund.org for more information.
