Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) may allow you to donate from your IRA to The Campership Fund without having to treat withdrawals as taxable income. A couple of things to consider:

  • You must at least be 70 ½ years of age at the time of distribution

  • The distribution must be made directly from your IRA custodian to TCF. It cannot pass through you first

  • QCD’s can be excluded from your gross income up to an annual limit (currently $108,000) that is indexed for inflation, potentially lowering your overall tax burden

  • If you are at least 73 years of age, a QCD can satisfy the annual required minimum distribution from your IRA (RMD)
